Course Description
Ireland is a leading outdoor activity destination with world-class mountain biking trails, nationally recognised loop walks, a wide range of water-based sports and a growing number of outdoor activity businesses. This course is designed to meet the needs of the activity-based leisure industry. It includes a large practical outdoor element which is delivered from a range of locations and provides students with an opportunity to develop essential skills in a practical setting.

Course Description
This is designed as a follow-on course from the FETAC/QQI level 5 Veterinary Assistant course available at Cavan Institute (and elsewhere). This course covers all of the aspects of animal science and aims to advance the student’s academic and professional career prospects in animal care while also studying units in business and management. Students may use this course as a progression to a degree in related animal management and animal science and care areas. Industry placement is an important part of this course with placement being completed over the duration of the course. By the end of this course students will have learned how to maintain a high level of husbandry when rearing animals and have a knowledge of a wide range of animals.

Course Description
This course will provide students with the knowledge, skills and qualifications necessary to pursue a career in the area of early years care and education. This childcare course will offer additional opportunities for students who wish to specialise in working as a special needs assistant in a variety of early years care and education settings. Students will receive training in the basic practical skills, knowledge and understanding of the role of the special needs assistant in crèches, playschools, primary schools, etc. As part of the course, students undertake placement in a range of childcare settings.
